Reunion 2007 Recap Many thanks to Reunion chair Joni Page Pypka ('54-'55) and the planning committee for a successful June 2007 Reunion. Lara (Masur) Leitch, President of the alumnae association wrote a news article for the St. Thomas Times Journal summarizing the weekend's events. to mark your calendars for June 6-8, 2008. Another great weekend is planned!
Here are your decade hostesses:
We will kick off the reunion on Friday June 6 with dinner at 7:00 pm at the Port Stanley Wharf in scenic Port Stanley (208 Main St., 519-782-7788). Please let us know on the registration form if you would like to attend. Order from the menu and pay for your choices. You will be responsible for the cost of this meal. Join us for cocktails with the Reunion Chair at 9:30, location TBA. The business meeting, luncheon and banquet will will be held at the Kettle Creek Golf Club at 320 Carlow Road in Port Stanley, 519-782-7500. Registration is at 9:00 am with coffee provided. A collection of exhibits will be on display as well as Alma souvenirs. Get there early and spend time visiting with fellow alumnae, catch up on the past year and learn more about the upcoming trip to Bermuda. A travel agent will be on site to provide you with the details. The business meeting will begin at 10:15 am. This is an election year so please ensure that you pay your dues so that you can vote for the new slate of officers. This is an opportunity to find out what's been happening at Alma College, and what the Association has been working on. Lunch at 12:15 pm is followed by group photos at 1:45 pm. In the afternoon, alumnae will have an opportunity to reunite and share stories in the Lounge at the Golf Club, shop in Port Stanley, check out the Alma College site (no trespassing), or visit the Elgin County Archives on Sunset Drive. At 5:00 pm, we will gather for cocktails on the Patio at the Kettle Creek Golf Club. At 6:30 pm, we reconvene in the clubhouse for our Banquet, followed by
evening entertainment, and a nightcap with our reunion hostess. The hostesses
for the 50's group, Doris (Johnson) McKinley and Kay (Greenhough) Roach
invite you back to the Comfort Inn in St. Thomas for nightcaps. On Sunday morning, we will enjoy Brunch at the Port Stanley Wharf at 10:30 am. This delicious meal caps off the weekend. Space has been reserved for alma alumnae at three establishments. Prices below are from last year -- please note that they might change. You are asked to register as soon as possible to ensure accommodations for our special weekend. No guarantee that space will be available after March 1, 2008. Please book early! Comfort Inn: 100 Centennial Ave. St. Thomas. Each room has two queen beds. Price per room is $95. Phone 519-633-4082 and mention the Alma reunion. We encourage the Golden Girls (1957-58) to book here. Inn on the Harbour: 202 Main St., Port Stanley. Rooms vary according to choice of suites. Each room is unique. Prices range from $135 - $235.
